30th Celebration Has Five Release Dates, Not One

The 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box reaches store shelves on Wednesday, September 16, and most of the set is not coming with it.

TPCi split 30th Celebration across five separate street dates, and people are paying Wednesday prices for products that will not exist until Halloween. Pokemon's own product pages confirm the split: the Elite Trainer Box page reads "September 16, 2026" and the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Deck page reads "October 30, 2026." We read both on September 14.

We run a tracker that takes a daily price reading on roughly three thousand modern Pokemon products and watches the card subreddits next to it. Everything below comes from that, pulled on September 14.

What actually releases on September 16

Seven products, and PokeBeach published the full lineup with prices back on June 30:

Everything else waits. The Mini Tins and the Booster Bundle arrive October 2, the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks October 30, and the Ultra-Premium Collections, the Ditto Premium Collection and the Mewtwo and Mew Figure Collections all land November 6. The ex Tin closes the set on December 4. The Binder Collection was originally grouped with the October 2 products and has since been pushed back, with Pokemon's own product page giving December 4 when our tracker read it on September 4.

So if you are buying a sealed 30th Celebration product this week, check which of those five dates you are actually buying into. It changes how long your money sits still.

The Umbreon ex Battle Deck jumped 47 percent and misses Wednesday's wave

The biggest 30th Celebration price move of the past ten days is on a product that does not come out for another six and a half weeks. The Umbreon ex Battle Deck was going for around $34.62 on September 4 and reads $50.86 today, up about 47 percent, and the cheapest live listing sits at $51.19 delivered. Against its $19.99 MSRP that is roughly two and a half times retail.

The Espeon ex deck is the useful comparison here, because it ships the same day at the same price and did nothing. It reads $36.26 today with its cheapest listing stuck at $37.39, which is where it has been all week. Buyers are paying up for the Umbreon deck specifically, not for Battle Decks.

What we cannot find is a reason. We swept 325 posts across r/PokeInvesting, r/PokemonTCG and r/pkmntcg on September 14 and searched the titles and the bodies: zero posts about the 30th Celebration Battle Decks. The Umbreon mentions that did turn up are about Prismatic Evolutions and Evolving Skies Umbreon, and the "battle deck" mentions are people asking about the Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck. There is no conversation behind this move at all.

There are also only ten sellers on the board. That is thin enough that a handful of people can set the price between them, which is the honest caveat on every number in this section.

The September 16 products are sitting near three times MSRP

The middle of that group sits right around three times retail. The Elite Trainer Box, which we wrote about last week when it rose to $184 before release, has come off to $172.58 and is the most expensive of the group relative to its sticker price at about three and a half times.

One product in Wednesday's lineup is genuinely falling rather than drifting. The Poster Collection's cheapest listing dropped from $51.17 on September 4 to $38.90 today, about 24 percent, and the broader price came down with it. Most of the other declines in the set are not real: the Mini Tins look like they fell 7 to 22 percent, but their cheapest listings have been frozen at $46 to $49 the entire time, so what moved was an average and not a price anyone can pay.

What the Ascended Heroes tins did on their street date

We have run this exact experiment once already and it finished this week, which is the closest thing to a useful precedent anyone has.

On August 23, five days before the Ascended Heroes tins came out, we called them lower. They were trading around $74 with a $21.99 MSRP, about three and a half times retail, on only eight sellers. The tins released August 28. Today the Mega Feraligatr ex tin is $48.00, the Mega Emboar ex is $50.00 and the Mega Meganium ex is $49.98, so all three gave back roughly a third from where they sat in preorder. We covered the first half of that move when the tins fell from $74 to $50.

The shape is the part worth keeping. The tins broke hard on the street date itself, dropped 22 to 24 percent in a single move, and then stopped near two and a bit times MSRP, where they have now sat for seventeen days. The preorder premium did not bleed away gradually in the weeks beforehand. It went on the day the product became something you could walk into a store and buy.

What we are watching, and what we got wrong

Two new calls this week, and they are predictions, so we will grade them in public when the dates arrive.

We expect the Umbreon ex Battle Deck to be cheaper after its October 30 release than the $51.19 it costs today. We expect the same of the Booster Bundle, which is at $114.88 delivered against a $26.94 MSRP, about four times retail on seven sellers, before it releases October 2. Both are watchlist items rather than instructions. There is no way to bet against a sealed product, only a reason not to pay up for one yet. None of this is financial advice, and sealed Pokemon product is speculative and illiquid.

The honest counterweight is that we measured the opposite outcome a week ago. Products far from release have decayed in our data, and the 30th Celebration ETB actually rose while it was four weeks out. The Umbreon deck sits between those two cases at six and a half weeks, which is exactly where we have the least evidence.

Four older calls came due, and one of them was wrong. We called the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection [Night] lower on August 29 at $629.99, and it is $659.87 today, up about 5 percent. The mistake was not the direction, it was the clock: we set a two week review on a product that does not release until November 6, so we graded it before the street date that the whole idea depends on. That is now a rule here. A preorder call gets reviewed after its own release date, never on a fixed horizon.

The other three landed. Morpeko ex 117 from Pitch Black, which we said to sell raw on July 31, has gone from $116.28 to $85.00 raw while its PSA 10 barely moved, from $618.23 to $600.00, and its PSA 9 actually climbed to $225.00. That gap between a falling raw price and a steady slab is worth understanding before you submit anything, and it is the same pattern we walked through in why a huge PSA 10 multiplier is usually a trap. Darkrai Lv.X came in flat at $52.06 raw against $52.53 two months ago, after a full Pitch Black news cycle, with its PSA 10 down 12 percent to $8,100. And the Ascended Heroes tins above.
